LinkedIn markets itself as the 'Professional Social Network' (or as we like to call it the Business Facebook.)

Launched in May 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking and has over 364 million registered users, spanning more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

There are great features such as interest groups which help you see news and events in your specific industry allowing you to develop thought leadership. 

With the public being allowed access to the publishing platform Pulse in 2014, LinkedIn has become a crucial social platform for B2B marketing.
